EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITES AND STUDENT VOLUNTEER HOURS

We have lots of work ahead in 2018 and with 6 full-time positions available for those who can assist us with our summer Beach Camp. We also have 3 volunteer positions available each week through the summer for high school students in need of community service hours.  We’re interested in bright, enthusiastic individuals who have experience working with kids – specifically leading and instructing activities for kids.   Suitable candidates must be physically fit, comfortable interacting with new people, very good with task completion, understand the importance of professional conduct in a relaxed atmosphere and are prepared for physically demanding conditions.

PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

The Programme Coordinator is a 9 week, full-time position.  The successful applicant will communicate daily with the programme director coordinating programming resources for changing weather conditions.  Other responsibilities include: tracking attendance, communicating with parents in the event of illness, injury or absenteeism, organizing shifts, entering payroll hours and assisting with camp take-down at the end of each day.

BEACH CAMP STAFF

Reserved for College/University Students, Camp Staff are high energy, enthusiastic people who can balance professional responsibilities within a fun, laid-back environment.  Experience in working with youth, playing/leading, facilitating, fitness programs, volleyball, stand-up paddle board, slackline or yoga is essential. Safe supervision of kids is the cornerstone of all aspects of programming. Hours are 8 a.m. – 4p.m. with holidays and weekends off.

Responsibilities: daily set-up and takedown of all camp materials including  tents, volleyball nets, stand-up paddle boards, slack-line, fitness activities and equipment.  Supervise , facilitate, instruct and participate in all activities.  Provide supervision of all campers for safety, group cohesion, and overall program enjoyment.  Present in a professional manner on the beach while representing Bluffs Performance in a shared community space.

BEACH CAMP SUPPORT STAFF

A six week, full-time Beach Camp Staff position available for 1 High School Student who has completed Grade 11 or a University/College student.  This person will be have to be a high energy, enthusiastic person with experience in working with youth, playing/leading, facilitating, fitness programs, volleyball, stand-up paddle board, slackline or yoga. Supervision of kids will be a key priority. Hours are 8 a.m. – 4p.m. with holidays and weekends off.

STUDENT VOLUNTEER

Student Volunteers must have completed grade 9 and wish to collect community service hours to fulfill their High School credit requirements. An eight hour day 8 am – 4 pm, earning 40 hrs/week.

Responsibilities include set-up, takedown and storage of camp equipment as well as set-up of equipment for changing activities through the day. Volunteers will be expected to participate in programs and positive role modelling for campersPriority will be given to students who have participated in our camp in previous seasons.
